he Unity Steering Committee for the Greater Austin/Central Texas Area Stone-Campbell Dialogue is now meeting regulary to explore the avenues of common ground and cooperative efforts between the three branches of the Stone-Campbell Heritage. This is a strictly voluntary group of concerned Christians from the Christian Churches, acappella Churches of Christ and Disciples of Christ (Three Streams). Contact us if you wish to represent your congregation and meet with us on a quarterly basis. The steering committee is comprised of one committee member from each participating congregation as well as one alternate committee member. Each congregation will determine who their steering committee member and alter.

The purpose of the steering committee is to help facilitate and represent the voice and concerns of each autonomous congregation of the Three Streams in the continuing expanding Dialogue during the Quarterly meetings.

The steering committee is not designed to exclude the participation and attendance of any interested individual to the Quarterly Stone-Campbell Dialogue Meetings. All interested parties are highly encouraged to attend! What the steering committee will provide is an orderly channeling of each congregation's interest through one individual.

Expectation of steering committee members:  

Attend the Quarterly Greater Austin/Central Texas Area Stone-Campbell Dialogue Meetings.
Serve as the single voice for their congregation during the meetings
Seek for means of cooperation between the congregations within the Stone-Campbell heritage
Consider your congregation hosting the quarterly meeting
Serve as the focal point for correspondence and notification of area wide activities

Steering committee members are not empowered to:

Represent the interest of any other congregation other than their own in the Dialogue Meetings.
Override the autonomy of any congregation.
Re-assign their empowerment to another person outside their congregation. The congregation, however, may approve
     an alternate.
